To anyone who loves chocolate chip cookie dough, this is the recipe for you. I love everything about this recipe and how versatile it is. Feel free to change the recipe to your liking or make it just the way it is. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Ingredients:
Cupcakes:
1 box of chocolate cake mix (follow instruction on boxed cake mix)
3 eggs
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
Chocolate chip cookie dough (see my recipe on my blog)
Chocolate Whipped Cream Frosting:
2 cups of heavy whipping cream
1 cup of powdered sugar
1/2 cup of cocoa powder
Directions:
Cupcakes:
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Make cake batter as directed on the box.
Add cupcake liners to a cupcake pan and scoop cupcake batter about 3/4ths of the way in using a spoon or ice cream scoop.
Take about 2 teaspoons of cookie dough and add it to the center of each cupcake.
Once filled, bake cupcakes in the oven for 14 to 19 minutes depending on your cupcake batter and oven temperature.
Allow to cool for 30 minutes to an hour.
Whipped Cream Frosting:
In a stand-mixer or hand-mixer, combine 2 cups of heavy whipping cream, 1 cup of powdered sugar, 1/2 cup of cocoa powder.
Whip for 3 to 4 minutes on medium speed until you notice a whipped cream forming.
Use a piping bag with a piping tip to frost cupcakes.
Topping:
Feel free to garnish your cupcakes with either cookie dough, chocolate chip pieces, or pieces of freshly baked cookies.
